Research Interest: 

Ronald A Lopez is a graduate student working with Mike Fitzgerald. He is currently working on directly imaged debris disks in scattered light using data from the GPIES collaboration. As part of the UCLA Infrared Laboratory, he is characterizing the newly upgraded NIRSPEC SPEC detector, as well as aiding in the assembly of the fiber extraction unit as part of the new KPIC instrument on the Keck II telescope. He is also a UCLA planetarium coordinator and a member of the diversity, equity, and inclusion committee in the department of Physics and Astronomy.
