Private Educational Group Shows
Private shows for school and educational groups are free of charge!
The UCLA Planetarium offers planetarium shows, telescope shows, and other astronomical activities free of charge to school and educational groups. Corporate and private non-educational groups are asked to make a nominal donation to the planetarium to cover operating costs.
To arrange for a private show, please email planet [at]
astro.ucla.edu.
Include the following:
- Name and/or affiliation of your group
- Number and grade/age range of attendees
- The number of adults
- Contact information (email and phone)
- Preferred dates and times
- Also, indicate if you would like a special
topic show in addition to the night sky show.
Both shows are presented in the planetarium.
We can offer multiple shows for large groups. The capacity of the planetarium is 49, but we recommend a maximum group size of 30-35 per show, or smaller for visitors with special needs. Generally, we can be flexible regarding the length and content of shows and other activities provided, but we may be limited by the availability of graduate student volunteers. Please contact us at least four weeks in advance in order to schedule a private show.
